物件的殘影 The Remaining Shadows
在2016年夏秋之際，我在一個位於日本橫浜市的邊緣城鎮裡，展開新的生活。偶然駐足於異鄉，相較於外在環境的陌生感，從私密生活中的細節所獲得的親密感顯得更加強烈，日子像是一種滲濾過的平凡，裡頭有新的刺激和期待，也有失落與孤獨。
我的創作時常關注於闡述空間的敘事性，把焦點放在自己和他人的居住空間上；而空間中的物件和擺設方式保留著人的痕跡、記憶或是過往。
旅居日本期間，也走訪了許多日式的家屋與房間。在《陰翳禮讚》1一書中，谷崎潤一郎從和室、食物與器具中探討黑暗和陰影的美學，物件因由外力與時間的摧殘而磨滅，在蝕刻下產生孔洞，凹凸不平的表面造成不同的光影起伏，在不同時間增減的色彩也產生了濃淡變化，這些無以名狀的幽微氛圍形成一種敘事形式，經過神秘恍惚的時刻轉化，部屋成為了敘說故事的場景，物件的細節與擺設也被賦予了意義。
我嘗試描繪物件與光影、空間的互動，代入物件本身去感受幽微的光源，揣想毛絨的溫度，體會風的輕盈、葉的凋落；從物件的孔洞中窺看風景，在鏡面的反射與磨損之中，透過想像和記憶的殘影，捕捉物件細微變幻的霎時之美，訴說它們的生之意義。
出走的意義是選擇將自己拋到另一個陌生的處境, 離開自己原有熟悉也疲乏的環境,日常的模樣是認識生活和生命的方式, 在這裡的經驗成為了創作和想像的剪裁。

The Remaining Shadows
My artworks are often focus on the narrative of space, the movement and stillness of objects and space. The object retains the traces, memories. I try to depict the interaction of objects with lights, shadows, and spaces.
The book Praise of Shadows*, an essay collection written by Junichiro Tanizaki. He explored the aesthetic in darkness and comparisons of light with darkness are used to contrast Western and Asian cultures. In addition to contrasting light and dark, Tanizaki further considers the layered tones of various kinds of shadows and their power to reflect low sheen materials like gold embroidery, patina and cloudy crystals. In addition, he distinguishes between the values of gleam and shine. The text presents personal reflections on topics as diverse as architecture and its fittings, crafts, and different life objects.
If the collection of these items with different properties in painting can be seen as a list, what I do with this list is to use my imagination to discover the unknown relationships between them. Once the viewers try to interpret in a poetic way the form and order of these items’ existence in the paintings, a brand-new visual significance will be created.Through the imagination and memory, capture the objects or scene’s afterimage.
